And they make people recognize their imperfections and help them realize that they need to be better. They can cause people to feel like they have to maintain a certain social order to fit society. They can cause people to have a negative opinion or feeling about themselves when they get caught doing something silly in public, whether unintentional or not.

Whether it be a mishap like spilling a cup of coffee on yourself, or something much bigger like being called on by a teacher when you’re zoning out- we all have had those moments of embarrassment from time to time.
